In 1990, when Saintsbury purchased Brown Ranch, it was a hayfield and Percheron horse farm. We were fortunate to receive this wonderful piece of land in a blank canvas form (not to vine). As stewards, we took an in-depth study of the land and from there decided how to compose the vines: rootstock to grape. With this same philosophy and attention to detail, the Brown Ranch Wine Club reflects the intellectual pursuit of exploring our highest quality Pinot Noir and Chardonnay produced in small batches. The Chardonnay is released to members in April and Pinot Noir follows in October. Membership requires a minimum commitment of two consecutive shipments.
