2016 Carneros Pinot Noir
A perfumed nose of rose petals, dark cherry, rhubarb and wild strawberry with white pepper and cinnamon spice notes. Lovely fresh rose, cherry, plum and cola on the palate with hints of five spice and cardamom. Smooth, silky tannins with a long succulent finish.
After night harvesting, the pinot noir arrives at Saintsbury within the hour of pick. The clusters are first sorted before moving to the destemmer. Partially crushed fruit is then transferred into open-top tanks for fermentation.
