2016 Vin Gris of Pinot Noir
When selecting fruit for our Vin Gris of Pinot Noir, we look to our Carneros vineyards that offer diversity in both aspect and clonal selection. This makes for a well-structured and vibrant rosé.
Clones: St. Clair, Madonna, Pommard, Swan, Dijon 115, Dijon 777, Dijon 23
Terroir: Carneros is known for its loam and clay soils and a mixture of flat land and rolling hillsides, which has the reliable marine fog that rolls in every evening and burns off mid-morning.
Whole clusters of Pinot Noir from our Home Ranch vineyard are hand-picked at night and taken directly to press. The juice was pale in color but ethereal in aroma. The saignée components of the blend add depth and juiciness to the mid-palate.
Aging: Stainless steel tanks. Partial malolactic fermentation.
